Studio Wu is an awards-winning design studio based in Berlin that focuses on intercultural design between China & Europe. It is a place for creative possibilities where handcraft and sensuality in design is not nostalgic in the digitally dominated world.

The studio was founded by Yi Meng Wu 吳禕萌, a designer, artist and cultural mediator. Having grown up in Germany & China, she feels most comfortable living between the cultures. Since her studies in Berlin (University of Arts), Essen (University Duisburg-Essen, today known as Folkwang university of arts) and in Paris (École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs), she has gained more than 15 years of experience in intercultural design projects as a designer and free artistic director for renowned german agencies such as MetaDesign and Tamschick Media + Space.

In collaboration with partners and experts from different creative fields, Studio Wu is specialised in the art of book design, illustration, exhibition graphics & multilingual typography as well as intercultural design consulting.

Studio Wu 是一个跨国文化设计工作室,由职业设计师艺术总监和书籍艺术家吳禕萌建立。她出生上海,9岁起生活在德国。2009 年在柏林创立设计工作室。先后在德国埃森大学 University Essen-Duisburg (今日:Folkwang 艺术大学)、巴黎高等装饰艺术学院 Ensad Paris 和柏林美术大学 University of the Arts Berlin 攻读视觉传达专业,2008完成硕士。方向是,以中西文化方面的共性为前提,力求艺术与设计之间转换的最佳表现方法; 擅长是各种艺术设计包括书籍,插图,手写字体设计以及跨国文化的研究项目。其作品获得 “德国最美书籍”奖,German Design Award “德国设计奖”,Hiii Typography 2015 中文字体铜秀奖,入选“全球 80 后华人100位优秀设计师展”等等。
