„Der Boxerkrieg – Das Ende des chinesischen Kaiserreiches“

Studio Wu 無 was honored to contribute short animations to the sensitive documentary „Der Boxerkrieg – Das Ende des chinesischen Kaiserreichs“ by directors Minh An Szabó De Bucs and Grit Lederer. The documentary chronicles the Boxer Uprising and Prince Chun’s expiation mission „Sühnemission“ to Berlin—which took place exactly 125 years ago in September 1901. For the animated sequences, we utilized the paper-cutting technique, which has a long craft tradition in both China and Germany.
