Steine, Tusche, Papier und Pixel 數說托片

Warm welcome to the opening of the exhibition “Steine, Tusche, Papier und Pixel” in Museum for Printing Leipzig which explores the ancient art of Chinese stone rubbing – a technique over 2,000 years old used to reproduce texts and images. The exhibition features modern rubbings of historical inscriptions and engravings, spanning from the Zhou Dynasty (1027–221 BC) to the 20th century.

Studio Wu 無 is responsible for the artistic collaboration, exhibition design as well as part of the youth education program.

One of the highlights is the use of Augmented Reality: I have applied the traditional method of linocut to creative modern interpretations inspired by the stone prints which have been transformed into vibrant linocut animations in AR technology – as a dialogue between the past with modern artistry.
