Eight Stories/ACHT Geschichten 八个故事
This is a book project about my four grandparents in Shanghai. I asked each of them to tell me two short episodes about their lives: one from the past, the other one from recent years. These stories are full of huge contrasts that reflect the historical, social and cultural changes in China in everyday life. My task was to reconstruct these stories visually with collages of documents such as old photographs provided by the family.
